Susie Owens

Each month we share the stories of dynamic educators who are using MasteryConnect in innovative ways to help students be their best! Follow along with our Featured Teacher series and get to know other teachers in the MC community.

Meet Susie Owens, she’s been teaching second grade for 14 years! Even though she admitted teaching was a second career choice for her, she didn’t waste any time before making a huge impact on students. She currently teaches at Fremont Elementary School in Nevada, but if she wasn’t a teacher she’d go back to her past career of being a roulette dealer at the Bellagio in Las Vegas. Keep reading to learn how she avoids burnout after all of her years in the classroom.
