As a very busy summer transitions into a busy school year, we’ve been hearing teachers and administrators clamor for meaningful professional development. At MasteryConnect, we have a few different PD offerings, each with an increasing level of alignment towards model mastery.
We believe that instituting mastery-based grading and creating Model Mastery Schools all across the country would revolutionize education in the United States. Our PD is born out of these beliefs and our passion for helping schools become Model Mastery schools.
That being said, we should warn you. Our PD is not the typical PD session that teachers are used to sitting through. Our PD is meant for teachers and administrators who want to create change and who are seeking answers to questions they have uncovered as they’ve tried to implement a professional learning community in their school. Our PD is designed to help schools truly become Model Mastery schools.
Every premium user of MasteryConnect receives an Introductory Webinar Package. This includes two online webinars with our Chief Academic Officer, Trenton Goble. In the hands-on training, Trenton helps teachers and administrators understand why MasteryConnect is called the “PLC Implementation Technology Solution”.
The On-Site Leadership package is a great second step on the road to becoming a Model Mastery School. In this training, we offer strategic sessions that teach attendees how to un-pack the Common Core State Standards and how to lead the Mastery Movement at their school or district.
In our 2 day On-Site Immersion PD, administrators and building leadership teams receive the interactive sessions mentioned above as well as more in-depth training that can increase the effectiveness of teacher collaboration and data analysis. Sessions such as Creating Outstanding Formative Assessments and guided goal-setting can help teachers create a tactical plan for their PLC.
Our full-year Model Mastery School package is designed to allow personal and regular interactions between MasteryConnect and the schools working to become Model Mastery Schools. In addition to the educational sessions mentioned above, schools will receive on-site visits, assistance with progress evaluations and monthly coaching sessions.

Since the start of the new school year, we’ve received a few questions about how to manage teacher accounts as a school or district administrator. In an effort to get your year off to a smooth start, we’ve created a video to explain MasteryConnect’s tools for administering users at your school.
The video demonstrates how you can add and delete teachers as well as how to make edits to teacher accounts, and also shows how you can see which teachers have activated their accounts and completed the setup tutorial. Check out the video below:
